Step 2 : RAPA NUI | 4 NIGHTS

Welcome to Rapa Nui – The Heart of Your Journey (4 nights)

Where the world seems to end… and the soul begins.
Where the ancestors whisper in the winds of the Pacific.

There are places that are not simply visited.
They are felt.

In the middle of the Pacific Ocean, nearly 3,700 km from the Chilean coast, rises a windswept volcanic land: Easter Island, known by its inhabitants as Rapa Nui.

Stretching 24 km long and 12 km wide, with a coastline of about 60 km, this island of 160 km² is one of the most isolated inhabited places on Earth. Its highest point, the Maunga Terevaka volcano, reaches 507 meters.

Here, time slows down.
Nature dominates.
And Polynesian culture remains deeply alive.

This journey is not simply a stay:
it is an immersion into a community proud of its traditions, its language, its authentic cuisine, and its spiritual heritage.

The Soul of Rapa Nui

Rapa Nui is not only famous for its 887 Moai, the monumental stone statues watching over the island. It is also:

• an ancient clan-based society
• a strong oral tradition
• a deeply rooted maritime culture
• a spiritual connection to ancestors

The local gastronomy, simple and authentic, highlights fresh fish, tuna, sweet potatoes, bananas, and a variety of traditional Polynesian roots.

The community, with about 8,000 inhabitants, is close-knit and deeply committed to protecting its cultural and natural heritage.

Here, respect for the land is essential:
the entire island is considered a sanctuary.

Day 3 – Volcano & the Birdman Cult

When the Moai society collapsed, a new ritual emerged: the cult of the Tangata Manu (Birdman).

The ceremonial center was located in the village of Orongo, perched atop the Rano Kau volcano. Each year, clan representatives descended the steep cliffs to the islet of Motu Nui to retrieve the first sooty tern egg. The winner became the sacred Birdman for one year.

A breathtaking site:
Massive crater filled with water
Endless ocean views
• A true end-of-the-world feeling

CONCLUSION

In Rapa Nui, you do not try to understand.
You simply listen.

You listen to the wind along the cliffs,
you observe the silent presence of the stone giants,
and you feel the strength of a culture that has endured centuries of isolation.

For a couple, it becomes a rare experience:
living far from the world, returning to what truly matters, and sharing a suspended moment in the heart of the Pacific Ocean.

A journey to the origins.
A journey inward.
